For the first time in 10 years, the Mexican soccer team beat the U.S. team in United States territory (New York) on Sunday July 26, 2008. After scoring their first goal from a penalty kick, Mexico went on to win 5-0. Mexico City celebrated downtown at the Angel of Independence on Reforma Street.
